Itinerary

There is no set itinerary at Bambelela Horse Safaris. On a typical day you go for a ride after breakfast. After the ride there is time to relax, swim in the pool and eat lunch. If we do two rides a day there is another outride later in the afternoon. If we don't do a second ride (because of the heat or other activities) we will go for a game drive with sundowner. After feeding the horses we have dinner at the lodge. In the evening there is enough time to relax or we go for a game drive on our property.

How a typical day looks like

• Grooming the horses - morning outride 2-3 hours
• Lunch - Off time
• Grooming the horses - afternoon outride 1-2 hours

• Monday - arrival and departure day
• 1 rest day a week for the horses
• Morning rides (2-3 hours)
• Afternoon rides (1-2 hours per ride)
• Every 2 weeks - jumping in the arena of the Equine House in Hoedspruit - in the afternoon an outride in Zandspruit Bush & Aero Estate. 
• Every 2 weeks - swimming at Klaserie Dam with the horses, sleepover at Sunbirds Oasis Lodge and the next morning a ride to Pezulu Tree House Lodge in Guernsey Private Nature Reserve. 
• Once a week game drive with sundowner (no big 5)
• Once a week eating out in restaurant with the group (own costs)
• Once a week washing saddle pads and cleaning tack
• Extra excursions/tours at own costs (Kruger/Panorama Route/Elephants/Jessica/Blyde Canyon)

We are doing outrides on different locations around the lodge. The animals you may see on our own property are giraffe, zebra, wildebeest, eland, ostrich, jackal, nyala, impala, duyker and sable. Our neighbouring properties with 600-1000 hectares also has kudu, warthog, hippo and crocodile. The properties do also have a great variety of birds.
